Professor Stillwell in coordination with power plant management and the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department hosted an event for the Girl Scouts of Central Illinois. The event took place at Abbott Power Power Plant on the University of Illinois’ campus. Girl Scouts were able to tour the plant, learn about how power in generated, hear safety tips on how to stay safe around electricity, and talk with professionals in the field of STEM about career opportunities. The group taught the aspiring engineers about resource consumption in the home and how conservation saves money and the environment.
