Biography

Bridget Friel is a B.S. student in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a minor in the Sustainability, Energy, and the Environment Fellows Program. Her research focuses on collecting data from industry to assist in developing a technoeconomic assessment and life-cycle assessment on the conversion of feedstocks into value-added chemicals and fuels.

Bridget also serves as a 3rd Grade Coordinator for Reaching and Educating America’s Chemists of Tomorrow (R.E.A.C.T.). This outreach program organizes hands-on chemistry demonstrations and activities for schools in the local Champaign-Urbana area. Bridget loves to read a good book and listen to and play music in her free time.
